Introduction/Objective:
Aligning your deep beliefs about yourself (your identity) with your desired habits to ensure sustainable behavioral change without willpower struggles.

Exercise Steps:
1. Identify the habit you want to build or quit. Ask: ‘What is the identity of a person who naturally does this?’ (e.g., focus on being ‘a healthy person’ rather than just ‘someone going to the gym’).
2. Visualize this new identity and act in alignment with it.
3. Reinforce this identity with small, daily decisions (e.g., when choosing a meal, ask: ‘What would a healthy person choose?’ and act on it).
4. Avoid rewarding yourself with things that contradict your identity (such as eating junk food to reward working out) to prevent internal conflict.

Benefits:
– Builds habits that last without constant reliance on willpower.
– Strengthens self-worth and self-image.
– Prevents relapse into old, negative behaviors.
